NVidia 540M Optimus on Dell XPS L 502 X

1. Install Ubuntu (Natty) 11.04 64-bit

2. Install kernel 2.6.39 see http://www.addictivetips.com/ubuntu-linux-tips/how-to-update-ubuntu-11-04-kernel-to-2-6-39-0/

3. reboot

4. Go to https://github.com/MrMEEE/bumblebee and click on Downloads, save the tar.gz somewhere

5. extract and cd in the bumblebee folder

6. sudo ./install.sh

7. reboot

8. use bumblebee-enablecard or bumblebee-disable to turn on/off NVidia

9. use

optirun64 program_name

to run your program using NVidia
